  • Can't connect to FTP on AWS (yet, Filezilla connects)

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I can connect to an FTP site via Filezilla (a site hosted on Amazon Web Services). However, when I try to connect via Beyond Compare, it fails with "Unable to load initial remote folder". There is no initial remote folder (unless you count root as a folder).

the connection is "ftp://owa\someuser@123.123.123.132/ (obviously obfuscated)

    This is what Filezilla reports:

    Status: Connecting to 123.123.123.123:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
    Status: Initializing TLS...
    Status: Verifying certificate...
    Status: TLS connection established.
    Status: Logged in
    Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Status: Calculating timezone offset of server...
Status: Timezone offset of server is -14400 seconds.
Status: Directory listing of "/" successful

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

Is BC4's Profile set to run as FTPS instead of FTP? The Filezilla log looks like it is making a TLS (FTPS) connection, which filezilla can sometimes flip configuration settings on the fly, while BC4's profile must be explicitly set before connection.

If you are registered for BC4 Standard, you can trial Pro (for FTPS support) to see if this resolves the issue, here:
