  • NC Code compare

    Hi there,

    We are evaluating the Test-Version of BC4 and have a specific quastion. Our main reason is to evaluate NC-Code. Every NC-Code line starts with NXXX. If we add a new line, all the other lines below change their numbers. So BC4 marks the rest of the file in red. What we are looking for is to ignore the NXXXs and show just changed codes which follows in the line afterwards.

    Is something like this possible?

    Thanks in advance

    Greetings

    Hello,

    Yes, you can define a custom File Format for your NC Files, define a grammar to match on NXXX, then mark that grammar as Unimportant. We have a KB article and video covering a walkthrough here:
    http://www.scootersoftware.com/suppo..._unimportantv3

    Your RegEx might look something like:
    ^N\d+
    where
    ^ = beginning of line (assumes no whitespace)
    N = literal N
    \d+ = at least one digit, and more

    So it would then match on this pattern only at the beginning of the line, and can then be made unimportant (a second step after definition).
