Can you post a full screen screenshot of BC4? It may be an encoding detection issue (displayed in the top status bar of each pane).

Update: It looks like it is related to the current Font. Go to the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Colors/Fonts tab, then select "File Views" tab, and click the "Editor Font" button, switch to another font that better supports Chinese Characters.

Segoe UI seems to work in this test case.

Did switching to Segoe UI help with the display when there is a difference?

There is a drawing issue with specific fonts that occurs when selecting characters or if a subset needs to be drawn red.
