Suggestions for improvement on the Profiles dialog:

1) If (as seems likely to me) the <default> profile is a default FTP profile, the mention that on the UI e.g. rename it <default FTP>

2) Make these commands



more visible e.g. on buttons. the current hiding of them on the context menu only is not up to the otherwise high standard of the BC UI.

Thanks for the suggestions. In the Profiles dialog, New and Delete are both available using the + and - buttons at the bottom of the profile list.

1) This is something we can consider. There are a few locations in the program which rely on the icon to represent the type (such as the File Formats dialog, and the format icons), but making this more clear with text or another method could help.

2) New and Delete are exposed as buttons (+ and -) at the bottom of the list. Rename, Expand All, and Collapse all are possible commands in the Folder Compare as buttons, but currently only work in the context menu in this Profile dialog. It's something we can look into, but probably would not tackle until we are looking into a larger redesign of the dialog. There's a lot of other projects already currently in queue.

This entry has a globe icon. That doesn't tell me it is FTP.

Thanks Aaron and Chris. Perhaps the guy who does the menus and the guy who does the buttons could get together and agree consistent command labels

I'd like to see BC completely avoid providing info only as icons and providing commands only on the context menu.
