  • How to ignore EOF (end of line) differences when comparing files?

When comparing files, BC4 would indicate two files are different just because they are with the different end of line format. How could I supress this warning?

Sorry if the question is a duplicated one.

    Hello,

This is controlled by the Folder Compare's Session menu -> Session Settings, Comparison tab. By default, timestamp and size are compared (and are different). You can also enable Rules-based scanning (and leave Override Quick Tests enabled); this will scan the content and ignore the line ending difference.

Optionally, you could alter the rules-based scan criteria to mark certain things as Important or Unimportant; the default behavior will ignore changes in the End of Line character (Win vs. Linux vs. Mac), as long as the character is in the same relative position on the left and right files. You can double click files to view them and note any differences (red) that are marked as part of a Rules-based comparison.
