  • Touch folder

    Hi,

    my question is simple :
Is there any way to do the 'touch' but only for the folders?

I ask this because the Copy already copy the timestamps but not on the folders.

    Hello,

In BC4, go to the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Toolbars/etc tab, and Select View: Folder Compare. Search for Show None, and add it to the toolbar.

You can go back to the main Folder Compare view, and now select Show None and Always Show Folders in the toolbar. This combination removes all files but leaves folders in view. You can then Select All (Ctrl+A), and slide the selection (Shift+Arrow Keys) to select the side you want to edit the timestamp. Right click and Touch this side to edit the timestamp of the selection (which is only folders) and make sure "include folder contents" is disabled.

Please note that Folder timestamps are actually preserved during the initial copy, but that copying any file into the folder immediately updates the timestamp. There are many external factors that can set the timestamp in Windows, during a normal Windows copy or later.
