Canon 80D raw not supported?

Hi Scooter Software,

the Canon 80D was introduced May 2016. Is there any chance it's raw format will be supported soon in Beyond Compare?

Beyond Compare doesn't have built-in support for any camera raw formats. We rely on the decoders provided by macOS and Windows. If Canon provides codecs that would allow you to view them in the OS's respective Preview apps, BC should pick it up automatically. If that's not an option, you could create a new file format in BC and use something like XnView's NConvert as the external conversion command line to have BC call it to do the RAW to BMP conversion.

Thanks for the information, I installed now FastPictureViewer Codec Pack and it seems to work well with BC.

Install FastPictureViewer Codec Pack 3.8, reboot, then load a RAW .CR2 file in Beyond Compare 4.2.6's Picture Compare. No additional steps are required. Those steps worked on my Windows 10 64-bit test PC.
