Feature Request/Bug: Improve handling of filtered/collapsed lines

Well filtered lines are great but I noticed two major annoyances when working
    1. The text search function (Ctrl+F) doesn't finds anything inside lines that are filtered.
=> there should be an option to search also within filtered lines
    2. Would be nice to if you would be able to delete filtered/collapsed lines
When I edit a files make a selection that contains filter lines and hit the delete key to delete these selection collapsed lines
Only the select text outside is deleted - What was inside the filtered/collapsed lines is now shown.
Now it need a manual do a second turn to select and delete these text also.
    3. ... and a new idea
what about an option call 'search in both' or 'sync search'
where you can select or type/paste some unique string that is searched in both
and optionally used as sync/align point for the compare

    Hello,

Thanks for the feedback and ideas

    1) This is something on our wishlist.

    2) This is tricky since we want to avoid deleting anything that might be filtered with a confirmation. The Folder Compare accomplishes this with a checkbox in a pop-up dialog, but the Text Compare has no pop-up confirmation to catch a user's attention they are about to delete suppressed information.
How large are these sections that need to be included? We have a Show Context option, with a configurable size, which could catch and include these sections, showing the text and allowing it's quick delete.

    3) With this "sync point", is the main goal to supply an "alignment weight/point" and alignment information to help with a file that has poorly auto-aligned?

      Related to this post:

      - Is it possible to compare two text files with no filtering done?
      - Is is possible to expand all filtered sections at once (to achieve the effect of no filtering done)?

      Thanks --

        Hello,

Most of the original post is about applying commands to filtered or not sections. The Display Filters in the toolbar or View menu can control what is visible. Show All would show the entire text file content. The Display Filters don't control how the file is compared (different or equal text or the overall status in the bottom status bar), but does limit the view to help you review specific text with specific comparison status/coloring.

If using Show Differences or Show Same modes, collapsed sections are the 'other' status. These sections can be expanded individually, or Show All would show everything.

Does this help explain the Display Filters and comparison colors?
