  • Comparing zip files disguised with extension that is not .zip

There are a lot of software applications that store their saved 'document' as a zip file but use a filename extension specific to the app. Extensions such as .jar, .war, .xlsx, .pptx, .docx, .oo variaties and numerous others containing some sort of 'package' output or configuration.

Can I configure BC4 to deal with these kinds of files at the zip level instead of as binary or inferred as data?
Also, they would all have a PK magic number at the start and be readily identified.

    Hello,

Yes, we have a list of Zip masks in the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Archive Types section, under Zip. We have jar, ear, and a few others, but you can customize and add any other extensions as well using dos masking. Once you make a change, however, please perform a quick restart of the application to apply these settings.
