  • BC 3 and 4 fail to handle attached storage

At one time BC handled attached storage. Version might have been BC2.

BC 3 and 4 allow selecting attached storage files and folders, but will not actually process them. An attached storage copy operation fails with no error message, just a silent exit from the copy function.

The originating location may be situated on a flash drive or a UNIX drive. The target location may be on a a flash drive, a UNIX drive, or the local drive. This indicates that the problem is with associated with the originating attached storage, not the destination media location.

This was a problem in Windows 7 as well as Windows 10.

Could this problem be due to an incorrect configuration setting or is it a bug in the copy function?

The Copy function in BC2/3/4 uses the same core method provided by Windows Explorer, and generally matches that behavior. What is the syntax of the base folders you are loading? Bound Drive letters or network shares? If you attempt the copy with Windows Explorer, do you see any extra prompts, dialogs, or error messages?

Could you post or email a full screen screenshot, showing a single file attempted copy and the log pane? If emailed to support@scootersoftware.com, please include a link back to this forum thread for our reference.
