  • Table comparison on the command line

    Hi,

I would like to compare on the command line 2 tsv (tab separated) files in the "Table Comparison" type. I would also like to ignore some of the columns and compare only selected columns. This would include no UI open and error level set on exit. Is this possible?

    Thank you,
    Miguel

    Hello,

You would need to set the global session defaults to ignore these columns on load. Are your columns shifting or are the ignored columns static? When you say selected, do you need a graphical selection or do you know "columns 5-10 always need to be treated as Unimportant".

This is configured in the graphical interface by loading your files, setting the columns as Unimportant by right clicking headers or using the Session menu -> Session Settings, Columns tab, mark columns as Unimportant, then before clicking Ok switch from Use only for this View to Also update session defaults.

From the command line, a rules-based comparison can be run using /quickcompare, documented in our Help file -> Command Line Reference chapter.
