  • Possible to rename file during copy then rename back to original name after copy

    Hello All!

I wanted to know if there is a way during the copy operation to give the file a temp name then name it to original after copy..

    Example:
    FILE.bak
    FILE.bak001
    FILE.bak002

During copy to destination they are given a temp name like
    FILE.bak.tmp
    FILE.bak001.tmp
    FILE.bak002.tmp

Rename files on destination to original file name?

Reason why is I have a program that looks for those file extensions and I dont want the files to be accessed until they have completely copied over.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

No, our copy method does not support this type of rename and transfer. You could rename the source files before the copy then rename them all back to the original names post-transfer.
Or, perhaps better: if you Copy to a different subfolder on the same local drive (one that is not scanned), then issue a Move command which should be instantaneous.
