  • Support for significantly larger comparisons in Beta 4.1 ?

    Dear Sir,

Thanks for the new Beta version. Can you please guide more about "Windows/Linux: Added 64-bit (x86-64) native installs, with support for significantly larger comparisons"

Looking for guidance about new capacity specifications and other details you may want to provide?

    With Regards

    Hello,

BC4.0's 32bit client would reach maximum limits, usually based on the amount of ram available to a 32bit application:

BC 4.1 is available as a 64bit application, which the Windows setup would detect and install if your OS is 64bit. You can see which version is installed in the Help menu -> About dialog. We do not have posted 64bit limits yet, as 4.1 is still in beta, but if you would like to help us test the upper limits, feel free to give the beta a try. Your computer hardware will play a larger role in the upper limits, so please provide specifications if you post your findings.

      Hello,

It will be nice to help in testing the upper limits - however how do we test it? Since it is still a Beta - will not prefer to install on top of Regular Version 4.07. Portable Installs seem to be 32bits only. Will it be possible to revert to 4.07 from 4.1 Beta - if I install 4.1 Beta just for Capacity Testing?

        Hello,

What I would recommend is to create a Portable Install of 4.0.7 and Import your current settings into it. That way, that becomes your fall back install if needed. Your main install can then be upgraded to 4.1 beta, continue to get 4.1 beta updates, and eventually update to 4.1.0 release.

We're looking into adding 4.1 beta 64bit options to the Portable Install, but it isn't currently supported.
