PDFtoText does have Error levels.

Then your previous:

You also previously wrote:

So since such support has ALREADY been added to this conversion utility, will you now be looking into reporting between the two states?

I was mistaken earlier that PDFtoText lacked the Exit codes, however it doesn't change how we globally handle External Conversions. Processing Error codes is on our wishlist.

Yup, but it's not currently scheduled development as a wishlist item, so you'll still need to expect an all picture pdf to handle as an error state for BC4.
