    Feature request: Highlight selected text

I just installed BC4 and getting used to it.
One of the main reasons why I installed it was, that I hoped that it might contain a feature for highlighting selected text like in Notepad++.
Unfortunately, it doesn't but I would be happy to see that in a future version. This feature is really helpful especially for checking source code when you just can select a keyword and see easily all places where it is used.

Thanks for the feedback. This feature is still on our wishlist; I'll add your notes and example to our entry.

'Just adding my support for this. This would be such a huge feature for me. I find myself wishing it was there pretty much on every use of Beyond Compare.

Any news regarding this request? For me and my colleagues BC4 doesn't provide additional features so far for ordering an upgrade.
That one would definitely provide a big enough benefit for us as it helps a lot when reviewing source code changes.

This is still on our wish list for a future version, but it hasn't been scheduled for developer time yet.

Still no schedule for this? I found another thread, requesting the same feature (http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbull...ight-same-text), which would be quite useful for me and probably for others as well.

Sorry, this is still on our feature request list, but it doesn't have a scheduled release date. Our developers have been hard at work on a few big items that will be released in 4.1 beta, including native 64-bit versions on Windows and Linux.

Thanks. It's not an uncommon request, but not one we've been able to tackle yet. It's still on our wishlist. We aren't able to comment on scheduling, since we've occasionally done so in the past and have missed those dates or features due to development hurdles.

Is there any hope to get that feature soon? Really, every time when I use BC to compare code changes from other developers, I miss that feature. It would help so much just to select a variable/function or whatever and see immediately the places where it is used.
That's the reason why I sometimes use Notepad++ to compare two textfiles.

There have been no new developments regarding this feature, so it is not likely to be coming soon but is still on our radar. We do listen to customer feedback, so frequent requests and example cases can help flush out and bump up a feature request.
