Editing disabled for merging the word documents

I have tried to compare two docx files and merge it , but when I tried with beyond comparer, I could see the changes but could not edit, there was a hardcoded text which says 'Editing disabled", could I know the reason for that and how to rectify the problem .

Beyond Compare doesn't support editing MS Word files. It converts them to plain text before comparing them, so making any modifications would lose data.
