xap files

I would like to use beyond compare to compare xap files.

xap files (silverlight) are in effect zip files, so it would need to be able to unzip the files and then compare the files within the zip.

Is this possible, if so can you please supply the necessary guidance

Hello,

If .xap files are literally .zip files renamed, you can add that definition to our Zip Archive definition. This is in the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Folder Views section, Archive Associations. Scroll down to Zip, then add it to the end of the ";" semicolon delimited list:
;*.xap

This would allow .xap files to be expanded and viewed in the Folder Compare, and then compare the contents within the .zip.
