  • Comparison of consecutive files

    Hello,

my text editor creates backups of files into one directory which looks something like this:
    filex_timestamp1.bak
    filex_timestamp2.bak
    filex_timestamp3.bak
    filey_timestamp1.bak
    filey_timestamp2.bak
    filey_timestamp3.bak
    etc.

Is there a way that I can use BC4 to compare two consecutive files by clicking on one and having it automatically compared to the preceding (older) file in the same directory?

    Thank you.

Not within the BC4 interface, the Folder Compare aligns a file on the left with one on the right (matching name) and compares that aligned pair. You can sequentially compare them manually by selecting any two files, right-click -> Quick Compare. You could also use a command line which passes in pairs of file names for comparison.
