    SFTP support

    Kubuntu 12.04 (64 bit)
    BC 3.3.5 (build 15075)

When I open the FTP profile dialog, and select 'new', the only login protocol BC allows is FTP, there is not an option in the dropdown box, to select SFTP.

I was under the impression that BC on Linux could do SFTP ??

    Hi Peter,

the use of SFTP is a Pro-feature:

Do you have the Pro-Edition of BC? (If you are still in 30-days evaluating phase you can acitvate the Pro-features in the "Help => About" Dialog)

    Bye

      Hi Christoph,

Thanks, I have the dual edition, so that is about USD $32 to have the Pro features, to give me SFTP.

        Hello,

SFTP support is a Pro feature:
        http://www.scootersoftware.com/shop.php?zz=kb_editions

The extensive work required to get SFTP support working is one of the reasons we have a Pro edition price that is more expensive. The Standard edition is a reduced price version we offer for people who do not need to take advantage of SFTP, and we still wanted to offer a product for $30.

BC2 did not have SFTP support, so we do have some workarounds available. They are not supported by Scooter Software:

If you would like to revert to trial mode to try out BC3 Pro, so you can test it before purchase, you can do so here:

Thanks Aaron, I may trial the Pro version then.

That link (http://www.scootersoftware.com/suppo...?zz=kb_evalpro ) gives an example for Windows only, the 'key' file is found in ~/beyondcompare/ path on Linux.
