  • Compare only folder structure?

    Hi all,

Is it possible to configure BC's Folder Compare option in such a way as to compare only the folder names (and subfolder names) within two hierarchies of folders whilst ignoring the contents/files within the folders?

For example, if I had the following:

    Main
    > Subfolder1
    > Subfolder2

    versus

    Main
    > Subfolder1

Then Subfolder2 would be highlighted as the only difference even if the files within the two Subfolder1's were also different.

    Hello,

Yes, with a bit of tweaking. First, set your file name filter (in the toolbar, defaults to "*.*") to "-*.*"

Then enable the combination of the View menu -> Compare Files and Folder Structure, with this filter. This should leave just the folder structure visible, and you can use the display filters to limit the view.
