  • Excluding file extension - except for one directory

I would like to have a folder comparison profile that would generally exclude files with a
    Code:
    .bak
    extension ....

... except in one directory where I keep my SQL Server backups - which also happen to have a
    Code:
    .bak
extension - in that directory, I'd like to include that extension.

Is there a way to do this in the current version of Beyond Compare? If so: how?

    Hello,

BC3 does not support conditional filtering for file names, unfortunately. The filter would either need to be defined to include only the items you wish to include, or defined to hide only the items you wish to exclude.

There is a fairly complicated filter that can accomplish this. You can copy and paste it into the Include section of the Session Settings, Name Filters tab.:
    ?
    ??
    *.?
    *.??
    *[!.]???
    *[!b]??
    *?[!a]?
    *??[!k]
    .\folder\*.bak
