  • How to compare two folders and save a report

I am trying to write a script that compares two folders and saves a folder report in a text or xml file but i keep getting errors.

    here is my script:

    load "C:\Users\aaron\Desktop\XML Comparison Files" "C:\Users\aaron\Desktop\other layouts" &
    expand all &
    folder-report layout:side-by-side options:display-mismatches output-to:c:\Users\aaron\Desktop\report.txt

    here is my command:

    "c:\Data Files\Portable Applications\Beyond Compare 3\BComp.exe" @"C:\Users\aaron\Desktop\TextCompareScript.txt"

Drop the & characters. The & character is used to make a single command carry over onto another line. If a command is on a single line, it doesn't need an & character at the end.

load "C:\Users\aaron\Desktop\XML Comparison Files" "C:\Users\aaron\Desktop\other layouts"
    expand all
    folder-report layout:side-by-side options:display-mismatches output-to:c:\Users\aaron\Desktop\report.txt
