  • Ignore the Modified timestamp?

    Can I ignore the Modified timestamp during a compare? A look at the documentation suggests that you cannot. Am I wrong?

    Hello,

    Yes, you are mistaken in this case. Do you have a quote or which documentation were you looking at that was confusing?

    BC3's Folder Compare compares timestamp and size by default, but can be configured to scan the contents of the files, which overrides the timestamp/size comparison.

    If you set this to Rules-based, you can use rules definitions as part of this scan.

    A rules definition can use the combination of File Formats and Session Settings to ignore specific text in a file, such as a specific word or timestamp. Detailed documentation and a video can be found here:
