  • CSV Data Compare columns Numeric tolerance for decimals with scripts

I compare a large number of CSVs with numerical columns and run a little batch of Beyond Compare script to do so (which is triggered by a Powershell script). I have tried criteria rules-based but unfortunately cannot work out how to apply a Column Numeric tolerance option. I can do this manually in a session with Rules > Edit Default, for Columns to type Numeric with say a tolerance of 0.1 or 1 and update my session defaults. Is there a way I can add this option to my script? Thanks.

I am currently using 3 but we have a request in for licenses for 4; but the wheels move slowly in some large companies.

    Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. Neither BC3 or BC4 currently support defining tolerance in script or the command line. If you use a Portable Install of BC3/4, you can alter these settings once in the graphical interface and note how it updates the default settings xml nodes in your BCSessions.xml. This could then be updated externally before calling to scripting.
