  • 14128 FTP Profiles dialog init

Please could the FTP Profiles dialog box's profiles list selection initialise to the profile in use by the session if there is one, rather than always default as currently.

If there is none or two, initialise to none selected.

This will make repeated tested setting changes faster and less error-prone.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I'll add this to the wishlist.

There is one other method I overlooked: a method to directly get to these options. If you click on the Browse button of the Folder Compare pane with the FTP loaded, it will load the Browse for Folder dialog set to the FTP site tab. You can then click Profile -> Edit to directly edit the options of the currently loaded FTP.

        Ah, handy - thanks.

        More suggestions for improvement:

        1) Provide keyboard accelerators for Profile and its Edit...
        2) On Profile's list, indicate the current profile e.g. with tick

          Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion. You can currently hit tab once and then space bar or enter to activate the Profile dropdown. At this point, just hitting "E" should work to directly go to editing, since all of your other entries in the list will start with other characters.

I'll make a note about adding a tick.

            > just hitting "E" should work to directly go to editing

            Thanks - it does.

FTR, the key sequence to edit the right side FTP profile is: ALT+S r r <TAB> <space> E

May I suggest E be underlined, as per other BC drop-down menus?

              Hello,

You can create a direct shortcut to Browse Left Folder or Browse Right Folder in the Customize Commands dialog box. This command would then replace the "Alt+S,R,R" part of the process with a single keyboard shortcut (well, two; one per side).

Thanks for the tip. I find SHIFT+ALT+L and SHIFT+ALT+R available.
