  • How to compare two folders where files have different names?

Hello, I have to compare files in two folders but the names of the files don't match. For example in one folder they're named "*.20111130" and in the other "*.20111129" or it may be "20111130.*" and "20111129.*".

How can I ignore the date and only compare the rest of the file name? I tried to use the Miscellaneous tab in the folder compare session but it didn't work.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

If the date prefix is on both sides, you'll need to define the different text explicitly for the Alignment Override in the Folder Compare session settings, such as:
    file1.20111130.txt <> file1.20111129.txt
    would be:
    *20111130* = *20111129*

How does this work for you?
