  • Comparing one file with many

I have folderA\fileA.txt and folderB\fileB1.txt, B2, B3 etc. How may I compare fielA with each of the fileBs? As reported separately, Next Difference Files does not work in this case.

We do not have a One vs. Many method in BC3. You can select A and B1 and use the Quick Compare command to compare those two files. Then repeat by selecting A and B2.

If you are using scripting, you could use multiple text-report commands, feeding each pair of files in as the pair of parameters.

      Thanks.

I think the user should not have to do that. Please pass on my wish that Next Difference Files be made to handle this.

I'll make a note of it on our wishlist.
