Timing of "backup" actions.

When I do a copy/synchronize that would overwrite several files, the "backup" actions for all the files takes place before any actual copying.
This can cause problems if there is an error during the copying, as all the files have been renamed.
I think it would be better if it renamed the files one by one, immediately before attempting the copy of that file. That way, if something failed, only one file would be renamed but not copied, rather than the whole set of remaining files.
