    Ignore File Extension option

    Hi,

There was an option in BC2 to ignore file extension in folder comparison. I cannot find this option in BC3... Where is it, or how can I achieve the same result with BC3?

    Thanks!

    Hi BenB,

Beyond Compare 3 doesn't have the "ignore file extension" setting. It was replaced by the "Alignment Overrides" setting in BC3 Pro.

As an example, here's how to align .csv files on the left with .txt files on the right using BC3 Pro:

    Select Session > Session Settings.
    Go to the Misc tab.
    Click New.
For "Align left file (or folder)" enter "*.csv".
For "with right file (or folder)" enter "*.txt".
Click OK until you're back to the main window.

There is a Misc tab under session settings when you are in a folder compare or folder sync session... but not under file compare session types.

Also, the Folder Compare Session Setting's Misc tab doesn't appear in with a Standard Edition license to BC3. It's one of the Pro-only features.
