So, I've been trying to figure this program out (BC4 Pro). I have a folder with my master files (Folder 1). Folder 2 has multiple sub directory folders with many files. Can I get a list of all files in Folder 1 and if they match anywhere in Folder 2, which folder are they in. Also, something that shows they aren't found anywhere in Folder 2. Thanks for any help!

Hello,
Yes, as long as the file names match and there are not duplicate file name pairs. We have a Folder View mode in the View menu -> Ignore Folder Structure which removes all subfolders, and aligns files based on their file names. Once aligned, we then compare the files.
Since the comparison is after the alignment, if there are multiple files with the same name, we don't know which to align first; hence duplicates can cause issues and need to be aligned manually.Aaron P Scooter Software -
Thanks for this tip. It has helped in comparing a large collection of photos that have been rearranged in a different folder structure. However, there are a large number of photos that have been renamed with the time stamp as a prefix. Is it possible to make a comparison on partial filenames?Comment

Hello,
If one side has the timestamp, and the other side is identical but missing the timestamp: yes.
If both sides have different, random text (timestamps), then the short answer is no.
The Pro feature Alignment Overrides can find a specific mask, including the timestamp, then match on explicit text. The match must be precisely defined, however, and cannot have a mask of its own. For example:
TimestampMask_(FilenameMask)\.ext
=
$1.extAaron P Scooter SoftwareComment
