File compare - characters only

Do you know if it is possible while compare 2 files report only the mismatched characters for each line and not the whole line.

How to highlight the mismatch characters by color in html report ?
Does it possible to output 2 mismatch lines not side by side (left<>>right) but top bottom.

Hello,

Using the HTML Color CSS option in the Report dialog or output-options:html-color scripting will add coloring to the HTML report, viewable in a modern browser.

The Text Report layout: Interleaved offers a top/bottom comparison for each difference section.
