Right click function version 2.1.2 in Windows 7

I have installed Beyond Compare 2.1.2 (build 216) onto Windows 7 and have lost the right-click compare function. I have been looking for a way to gain the function back and have drawn a blank.

I have tried the option in Tools > Options and selecting "Include Beyond Compare in Explorer context menu."

I located the registry key that this option controls and tried toggling its value data but to no avail. The key I used was located at HKEY_CURRENT)USER\Software\Scooter Software\Beyond Compare\Settings\ViewersInExplorer

Does anyone know if there is a way to gain the right-click compare function in Windows 7 for my specific version?

    Hello,

BC 2.1.2 was released in Feb 2004 and is not supported under Windows 7. All BC2.x updates are free for 2.x users, and the most recent BC 2.5.3 should work as you expect.

    BC2.5.3 can be downloaded here:

BC3 is also supported under Windows 7. The trial for BC3 can be installed alongside a BC2 install (no need to remove BC2 while testing BC3):
