  • Can the html report titles and headings be set when using script files

I would like to set the report heading and titles to text that I pass to the script file when doing a scripted compare. Can this be done?

    Hello,

There is detailed documentation available in the Help file under Command Line and Scripting: Scripting Reference.

The title variable can be set in script:
    folder-report layout:<layout> [options:<options>] \
    [title:<report title>] \
    output-toprinter|clipboard|<filename>) \
    [output-options:<options>]

Is that the functionality you are looking for?

in the report file I want to replace the text

      Left File: xxxxxx
      Right File: xxxxx
where xxxxx is the path of the files being compared

with text I pass to the script file.

      for example

      Left File: Table Name XYZ
      Right File: Table Name ABC

You have the /Title1 and /Title2 command line options but these do not work in the scripting mode.

          Hello,

Unfortunately, no, BC2 does not support customizing that text in the Report. You could add that information into the Title line, but you are not able replace the file paths as they appear.

Also, please be sure you are running the latest version of BC2 (2.5.3). BC2.x updates are free for 2.x users.
