  • Install Question No Desktop Icon

    Hello everyone,

Is there a command switch when doing an install to not have a desktop Icon? I have tried the /NOICONS but that does not work. I have created a LOADINF and that works but the problem is I am trying to do a silent install and the path is not always the same is there a way to tell the LOADINF to look in the current path?

Thanks for any help you can give,
    Dean

Re: Install Question No Desktop Icon

The /NOICONS switch prevents start menu shortcuts from being created. It won't prevent a desktop shortcut from being created by the installer.

The only way to prevent the desktop shortcut from being created for an unattended install is to use LOADINF.

There isn't a way to pass an alternate install directory when using the LOADINF command. You could create multiple INF files to use, one for each install destination.
