  • XSLT with Xmlspy

Does BeyondCompare support multiline matching (ignoring line endings). (LineEnding=Unimportant doesn't seem to work).
Xmlspy has combined multiline xlst into single lines, how can I configure the XML rules to ignore the line breaks?

    Re: XSLT with Xmlspy

Beyond Compare doesn't have the ability to ignore line breaks.

    This means:

    one two

    and

    one
    two

will always show as a difference.

Setting line endings unimportant will show a file with Unix line endings on one side and DOS line endings on the other side as an unimportant difference. If line endings are included in the comparison but they are not marked unimportant, this will show as an important difference.

For XML files in Beyond Compare 2, your best option is to use the HTML Tidy / XML Tidy rule from our Additional File Viewer Rules page. It will standardize the formatting of XML files before opening them for comparison.
