  • ftp progress bar (again)

    Hi,
I saw a couple old posts on the problem of the ftp progress bar going twice as fast as the file count. The bar gets all the way across when half the files are transferred.

I'm using BC2.4.1, from WinXP pro, connecting to IIS (5 or 6 - same issue). I don't have backups turned on. The ftp is SmartFTP library, transfer set to auto. In this case, I'm downloading IIS log files, but this occurs for any directory of any kind of file.

I have a snapshot of the bc log, but here is what each entry looks like:

    6/25/2006 1:16:33 PM Sent> PORT 172,16,166,111,12,53
    6/25/2006 1:16:33 PM Recv> 200 PORT command successful.
    6/25/2006 1:16:33 PM Sent> RETR ex06062404.log
6/25/2006 1:16:33 PM Recv> 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for ex06062404.log(93481 bytes).
    6/25/2006 1:16:34 PM Stat> 93481 bytes transferred. (132 KB/s) (687 ms)
    6/25/2006 1:16:34 PM Recv> 226 Transfer complete.

This repeats for each file, and finishes with:
    6/25/2006 1:17:19 PM Successfully Copied 44 Files

Let me know if this is known and/or planned to be fixed.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Re: ftp progress bar (again)

Thank you for the problem report.

FTP progress reporting, and progress reporting in general is on our list to improve in a future version of Beyond Compare. Sorry for the difficulty.
