  • Another commandline file comparison query

Please excuse me for being very dense. I've been using BC1.9 for ages with the /out switch to do command line comparisons (albeit with the window flashing up every time). However now, with BC2 I understand the command line facilities are alot better.

BUT, with all this talk of scripts etc (yes I have been looking around the forums, FAQ's etc for the last half hour), it seems alot more complicated than 1.9, or am I missing something?

All I want to do, is compare one file with another and stick a fairly basic difference in another file.

    Thanks

    Chris

Re: Another commandline file comparison query

The /out=xxx command line option still works in BC2, but it is deprecated and we suggest using scripting instead.

To generate a command line diff using BC and a script:

    use this script:
    Code:
    file-report layout:side-by-side output-to:%3 %1 %2
To run it, use the command line:
    bc2.exe file1.txt file2.txt diff.txt
