Porque *3.* ou *[3].* não funciona ?

Tento selecionar somente arquivos que terminam com 3 no nome do arquivo, mas sempre vem a lista completa dos arquivos da pasta ??????

se eu tento qualquer outro número funciona !!!
*1.* esta ok
*[1-2].* esta ok
*3.* lista todos, mas não existe nenhum
*[1-3].* lista todos , mas só existem arquivos terminando com 1 ou 2 .

É um erro ?
Estou usando a ultima versão do PRO (3.3.3 Build14128)

That sounds like unexpected behavior. I do not see the same results on my machine when testing a couple of test files with "text3.txt" as part of their name. The filter *3.* appears to work fine. Which OS and version are you currently running (Win 7 64bit)?

How many different end-in-"3" files do you have? Would it be possible to email a couple of sample files to [email protected] with a link back to this forum thread for reference? Please also include your current BCSupport.zip from the Help menu -> Support; Export.

One test: if you select your "name3.txt" in Beyond Compare, then select the "3" character and Copy/paste it into the Filter dialog (instead of typing 3), does this work?

Descobri agora que *3.* equivale a *3.*3 ? isto esta correto ?

Eu desejo selecionar apenas arquivos que terminem com no digito 3(ou outro qualquer) no final do nome, não no final da extensão.
A minha lista só contem diversos arquivos *.mp3 e por isto eu acreditei que estava selecionando todos.

Estou usando o windows7 32 bits.

Thanks for the info. Since the extension also has a 3 in it, that is causing a bit of an issue with using only .*

Try this filter:
*3.?*

I hope to remember in the future, because I allways use *.*, not *.?* to represent all files..

The reason for the issue is that *.* will match on filenames, even if they do not have a '.' in the file's name.

So *3.* can match on filename.mp3, since the .* can match on either .m or at the very end of the file (after the 3).

*.?* would match on all files that have at least 1 '.' character with at least 1 character after the period.

*.* matches on all files.
