14050 Picture Compare - Difference Magnification

It would be good for Picture Compare to have Difference Magnification alongside the existing Difference Offset.

I have sent a use case example by mail, since it's content is confidential.

Thanks again for Picture Compare - here it alone has been worth the purchase price of Beyond Compare entire.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I'll add it to our wishlist.

In the meantime, you'll need to manually determine the magnification by comparing the two picture pixel resolutions and dividing to get the percentage of the Zoom to Fit option.

That's no use - magnification has nothing to do with resolution. In the example I send, the left and right resolutions are the same. It is the relative magnification that needs a difference.

You've lost me there. I find no Zoom to Fit option in the last version UI or Help. If you mean Autozoom, well, that does not affect the comparison - just the display.

I was referring to "Stretch to Same Size" on the toolbar or View menu.

OK, thanks, but I find no percentage for that. Where is it please?

            Hello Chris,

Maybe we are talking about two different things?

We display the pixel resolution in the upper status bar of each pane. If you take the left pane's width and divide by the right pane's width (or vice versa), you can manually determine the percentage.

I'm not seeing any such status bar e.g. http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/9...9585sy0894.png
and I can find no reference to it in Help.

And as I said I find no percentage for "Stretch to Same Size". Where is it please?

                Hello,

You'll need to enable View -> File Info.

And we don't have the percentage available. I made note of your request for that in the wishlist, but for now you would need to calculate it manually.

Ah, OK, thanks. But since that just gives the image sizes, it is of no help to this problem.

OK, once I have calculated a percentage, what do I do with it? I can see no relevant command/setting that accepts a percentage.

                    Hello,

Correct. Our current "Stretch to Same Size" functionality is a simple toggle that either stretches them to the same size, or leaves them at their original sizes. There is not display or customization associated with it. Any other features would be feature requests (which I have noted in our Wishlist already). My tip about calculated the percentage was just because I thought you wanted to see that info.

Ah. I had mistook it as a proposed solution.

                      Thanks for filing the wish.
