BC3 for Linux 3.0.15 won't display hidden files (those starting with a .) in the browse dialog. As a workaround, load a folder that contains the hidden files as a base folder in the Folder Compare. The hidden files should display in the left and right panes of the Folder Compare, then launch a Text Compare from there.
It looks like this depends on your system configuration. On Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 using Gnome and Kubuntu 8.10, F8 doesn't do anything in the browse dialog. Instead, right click on the listing in the browse dialog and select "Show hidden files".
Using Ubuntu 9.10 and the latest BC3. This is still a problem/bug, although F8 does work, but it would be nice not having to right click all the time, just to navigate through paths.
It would be nice to see this one appear. With Linux, most users view the hidden files all the time. An option to do it of course would be great. Kind of painful having to press F8 all the time to navigate.
