8706 Linux - bubble hint for paths?

In folder and file compare views, I would like to see a hover over the path entry control return the path (for paths that are too long to fit). Both Windows versions 2 and 3 do this and it's very handy.

I see that BC 3.0.9 has this feature. The feature is useful, but there's one annoyance. While the hover text is displayed, the item (file or folder) cannot be selected by left-clicking on the name field; the cursor must be moved to another column in order to select the item.

The Windows version doesn't exhibit this problem.

I'm running BC on MEPIS 7.0.

      Can you duplicate this behavior?

        Dave_L,

Thanks for reporting the problem. I duplicated this in BC 3.0.9, I'll add it to our bug list to be fixed.

Was this fixed in 3.0.10? I didn't see it in the change log.

Sorry, no. It doesn't appear possible to make it act transparent like the Windows build does, so we'll have to change where hints appear, and I haven't had time to do that yet.
