    462 folder qty

The status bar shows the number of files but not of folders. Is there some good reason for this?

    Chris,

This matches the behavior of BC2.

Crikey. I'm glad the same logic wasn't applied to the rest of BC3

I think a more complete answer would be:

The file count on the status bar is associated with the size indicator on the status bar. It lets the user know how much space would be required if an action were done after selecting all files.

Including a folder count could confuse the issue since the size of each folder (and their contents) is not included in the size indicator on the status bar.

It would confuse only if the designed confusingly associated it with the size.... which would of course be dumb.
