Crystal Reports plug-in?

Hi,
I'm in need of a comparison tool for Crystal Reports rpt files. It would be wonderful if there was something that could be done in BC.

Sorry, we don't have a method for comparing Crystal Reports files using Beyond Compare. If you can use Crystal Reports to export the files to a text format (.txt, XML, etc), then Beyond Compare should be able to compare the exported files.

Is it possible for a third party to write a plugin for this purpose?

You can use either the external conversion process (convert and view as a supported file type in on of BC4's viewers) or create a program you call using a BC4 External Format (Tools menu -> File Formats, new External Format) documented in the Help file -> Settings Reference, File Formats, External Format.
