    Can't find HEX Compare

I want to be able to see a HEX dump of a single file. I haven't been able to find the HEX viewer. Maybe it didn't get installed in build 445.

After I can view one file with the HEX viewer, I would like to be able to compare two files with the HEX viewer.

We're working on the Hex viewer now and hope to have it available in a couple of weeks or so.

Great news. I use it in BC2 as much as I use the MP3 viewer.

Since the MP3 viewer in Cirrus is seriously improved I might not need it as much, but...

Hex compare showed up in Beta 446. Thanks.

I use the keyboard for many commands in Cirrus.

Please allow me to use the keyboard to invoke the HEX view. In BC2 I could highlight a file and key:

        ALT+A O H

Based on the menus I think ALT+A U H might do it.

I don't see the hex compare in build 446. How do you activate it?

It should show up automatically in your Open Session view:

...unless it hasn't made it into the Linux version yet...

              Thanks.

I found it in Build 446 for Windows. In Build 446 for Linux, it's apparently only partially implemented.

If you right-click on two opposing files in a folder session, you should also see it in the context menu:

Yes, I saw that too, in the WIndows version. The Linux version only has Text Compare and Data Compare in that context menu.

We'll have "U" be the accelerator for "Compare In New View Using" in the next release.

                      Thank you.

I tried to use "Customize Commands" to assign a Shortcut to "Compare in New View Using", but I wasn't successful. I assigning Alt+U but it didn't work. The "Customize Commands" accepted Alt+U

With two files selected I expected to be able to press Alt+U to see the "Compare in New View Using" dropdown and then I expected to be able to press "H" to get a HEX compare. Cirrus did not respond to Alt+U.

Then I tried to open the Actions drop down first. That didn't accept Alt+U either. Actually I entered Alt+A and then I released the "A" and with the ALT key still down I pressed "U". Nothing happened.

In the newest release (447), you can press [Alt], [A], [U], then [H] to compare in a new hex view.

Shortcuts won't work for submenus like "Compare In New View Using". In the next release, you won't be able to set a shortcut for such commands.
