BC4 Pro [New] 3-way folder merge

    On http://www.scootersoftware.com/shop.php?zz=kb_editions

    BC Version 4 only

    • 3-way folder merge
In BC4 Pro, three-way merging now supports folders as well as files.
    • WebDAV, Dropbox and subversion
BC4 Pro has integrated support for WebDAV, Dropbox cloud, and subversion resources.

Do you have screenshots of these new features?
Think there is a 3 way file merge, but maybe I am overlooking the 3-way folder merge.
    Same goes for WebDAV, Dropbox.

    Thanks!

We have the feature list, but no screenshots yet. As we rework the website we'll certainly include some.

Did you have any questions on how either of these work?

Sorry for my late reply. Was busy with some other things and this slipped my mind.
        No specific questions Aaron.
Just curious to see how it would be working/what I might expect.
Having in mind the idea of 1-to-2 (i.e. from 1 source updating to 2 destination folders) I tought this 3 way folder merge could(!) be something.
But then again, it is just a 'wild guess', as said, no idea what this 3 way merge is doing

The 3-way Folder Merge is similar to the 3-way Text Merge. The Left and Right side are "yours" and "theirs", both from a common "ancestor" in the middle. You can then merge these into an Output.

Feel a bit like a newbie here. With regards to the extra features and hidden potential, most likely I am...
But eh .. I have just temporarily reset BC4 to trial mode.
Could you give a hint as to how to proceed on this 3way merge?
The Helpfile explain what it is, but what are the steps to getting there?
Am in the folder compare mode, left some folders, right some folders.
            Now what..?

            TIA

              Hello,

In BC4, first go to Help -> About, and make sure you are set to run in Pro mode (or are registered for Pro if you have a Pro license). Then on the main Home screen, you can expand the New folder in the saved Sessions list and double click the "Folder Merge" session, or it is one of the icons on the right side. It is a separate session from Folder Compare, and has 3 file paths for input, and a 4th to "Merge To"

If you are already in a Folder Compare, you can select 3 subfolders, right click, and Open With -> Folder Merge, but this is probably not as easy as starting in the Folder Merge if you are looking to just check it out.

                Didn't ask anything here, right..?
