    Features request (based on v4.0.0.17451)

    1) Portable version - don't use registry or system/user folders to store information.
    2) Make the WebDAV, Subversion, Dropbox, FTP, ... external and removable modules so they won't take space and waste resources if the user won't need/use them.
    3) Remove the NET/web resources integration or at least let us disable it permanently. Making a tool prettier usually means trouble for the end user.
    4) Fix the picture compare and add the missing mode from BC3. Personally I think the new version is inferior to the old one. Multiple monitor support and a proper scaling (change size only if the picture is bigger/can't fit) would be nice tough.
    5) The toolbar should be simple and very customizable (also PLS no metro buls**t as default, if you want it so much let us choose instead of forcing it on us).
    6) Unimportant Text needs a lot more improvements - like session only words (as in temporary), word highlighting and so on.
    7) Optimizations for SSD/flash devices.

    1) Select "Portable Install" in the BC installer

    3) Click the white "X" to hide the panel and it will stay hidden

    4) Scaling images to fit is the default in BC4

      2) If you do not attempt to connect to these remote connection types, the resources required to have them "built-in" are nominal when compared to the resources required to make the program modular and to run checks for installed modules. Making them separate is something we considered (and have done in BC2) but found the disadvantages to outweigh the advantages.

      5) The toolbar is nearly the same as BC3's, in size and scope. The icons have been upgraded to higher res versions to support high Resolution displays (like the Mac Retina monitors). Under the Options dialog, Toolbars, etc section, you can disable Large buttons with text to get small icons. Large and Small buttons were both also present in BC3. I am unsure which part would look like "Metro/Modern" UI, but if you are referring to the Home screen, I suggest expanding the Edit dialog, then Pin it. This leaves the Session list on the left, the Edit area taking up the middle, with icons on the right, which scale in size dependent on the number of icons present. With two pages, these icons can be large, but if you drag many onto the first page, they will scale down to a similar size as the BC3 Home screen.

      6) BC4 added session only Unimportance definition. You can find it in the Text Compare's Session Settings dialog, in the Importance tab. Here you can define a specific phrase as unimportant, or Uncheck a Grammar element. The grammar element section of the interface is the same as BC3's; the ability to define Unimportance for just this session (above) is new. Word highlighting/Find is on our Wishlist, but not currently supported. You can also temporarily ignore a selected line by highlighting it in the main Text Compare interface, right clicking, and select Ignore.

      7) Many of our commands (such as Copy, etc) use OS level functions. Any optimizations offered by the device/driver to the OS for these actions would then be used by BC3/BC4 as well. Further optimizing the program is something we are continually investigating and tweaking.

I hope that addresses each of your suggestions/inquires. Let us know if you have any questions.
