Will there be a SCP option in the near future?

I've tried getting SFTP working in BC3 release with my Linux server, but no go (won't get into details here as this isn't the place to discuss it), however SCP works on the server and it works very well. Is there a plan to implement this in BC3 along side SFTP in the near future?

Sorry, we don't have any plans to support SCP, near or far future. I asked our SFTP library vendor about it and their stance is that is an outdated protocol. As unfortunate as that is, there haven't been enough SCP requests to justify us switching libraries or trying to implement it ourselves.
