Exclamation Syncing 2 Folders

Here is what I am trying to accomplish.

I have a laptop and a desktop. On both of them I save everything into 1 folder. When I am at home off of my work network I save, delete, and modify files in this folder. When I return to work I am wanting to be able to click on a beyond compare script to sync the 2 folders. I know how to sync it from left to right or right to left, but what I am wanting is to have the script sync the folders both ways. I want it to update all files I modified or deleted. What is happening right now is if I delete the file from my laptop when I attempt a sync it puts it back on my laptop because my desktop doesn't have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello Justin,

Beyond Compare cannot detect your deletes. You can take a look at the different logic rules you can set in a Folder Sync session by loading one up, going to the Session Settings' Sync tab.

Sync:Mirror will delete files not found in the Source, but this is a one way only Sync that will make the Destination equal to the Source, even if it has to delete newer files out of the Destination. Sync:Update is not destructive, and can go Both Ways, but cannot detect if a file was deleted on one side, or added to the other.

Deletion detection is something we would like to consider for a future version of Beyond Compare.
