Hello,
I'm having issues logging into an Elastic Comput Cloud instance with Beyond Compare 3. I've tried two keys, the one I generated and use on the command line. And one generated with BC3. Both keys work on the command line with the EC2 instance. Both keys work from BC3 to a physical Red Hat box. Neither key works from BC3 to my EC2 instance. I just get... "Connection failed (error code is -1)" Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks! |

Hello,
Thanks for the feedback. Are you currently using the Key as setup in the FTP Profile within BC3? Does it work if you setup an instance of Pageant? http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~s.../download.html *Please note that Pageant is not a Scooter Software product and is not supported by Scooter Software.

I was using it in the Authentication tab in FTP Profiles in BC3. But Pageant did the trick. (For anyone else that ends up here) I converted the private key to ppk format using Putty Key Generator, loaded it into pageant, and then connected using BC3 with no problem.
Thank you! -Bill |
