Is there a way to set FTP as ASCII in script?

By default BC2 set FTP with "Transfer Type" is auto. When we try to FTP from Mainframe "UNISYS", the content of files are not correct as they are in mainframe. We have to set FTP transfer type as ASCII to FTP correctly. If we manually set to ASCII in the GUI, it may effect other type of FTP transfer type.
Is there a way the set up FTP transfer type ASCII in the script, then set back to the default transfer type?

    Please help
    Thanks

    Hello,

Not in BC2. You could create two installations of BC2 (portable/single directory installs), and reference one for scripting for these FTPs, and the other for general use.

BC3 stores the Transfer Type setting per FTP Profile. If a specific FTP server/connection uses this setting, then using that Profile would enable it, while other Profiles can be customized differently.
The BC3 trial can be installed alongside BC2 (does not alter it or require uninstall). This way, you could test out BC3 while still using BC2 for day to day work:

I would recommend the following links for a nice overview "Basics" video, a list of new features, and an article describing the differences between BC3 Std and Pro edition.
